Unwanted, unloved, and lightly toasted

It took us quite a bit of detective work before we determined that no less than four of our seven family members played a role in the creation of the above image.

1. Mabel wrote “Unwanted” on a piece of paper for her siblings to put candy on when they were trading candy. Afterward, she left the paper on the kitchen counter.

2. Rose set down a half-eaten piece of toast on the counter this morning, then saw the paper and thought, “It’s true, I don’t want this toast.” So she placed the toast on the paper.

3. After I’d returned from physical therapy this morning, I saw the toast and thought that perhaps Isaac had left the note to show that the toast was available. But sharing food didn’t seem like a good idea when several of us are sick. So I wrote the second word on the paper, and left it there.

4. While cleaning the kitchen as part of his chores just now, Ike asked if he could borrow the camera to take this picture.

Update: Dean says he was the first to get the idea to put the toast on the paper. So it’s all in the family. 🙂

I think you should save it for some future archaeology student’s thesis.

    🙂 That’s hilarious.

I’m giggling! That is so completely something people would do around here! It’s comforting to know there are… OTHERS out there.
