Rose’s explanation for why sledding makes you hungry:

“When you go sledding, you get really wet, and so when you get really wet, you, um, the wet goes into your body, and there’s this pretend lasso, that lassos up your, um, gets your water, and it lassos up food because it has lots of energy, and then so, um, it gets a little rumbling sound, and it makes your tummy think that it’s getting hungry already, when you’re sledding, and so it makes you hungry. The End.”

Jbug, I am SO with you. As for your interpretation, MOTHER, the explanation changed quite a bit as she moved along with it. At first it was that you got really wet from going sledding, and the water goes into your body, and the (invisible/imaginary) lasso comes to lasso out the water, and with it comes the food, so you get hungry. I think she said it differently because she knew lots of people would be reading it and she wanted to make it sound good. I do that too.
