Lyrical skillz

My favorite song to sing to Hazel lately is “Edelweiss” from “The Sound of Music.”  I vary the lyrics according to whatever pops into my head.  I came up with a new middle part while I was changing her diaper just now, and I’m particularly happy with it.  Here’s the whole song:

Hazel Grace, Hazel Grace,

Small adorable baby

Cute and sweet, good enough to eat,

You look happy to greet me

Hazel, my Grace, you will always place

In my top five babies

Hazel Grace, Hazel Grace

Be my baby forever.

  1. Aw. Very cute. I make up lyrics too.

I constantly make up lyrics, but mine are never so lyrical, and my kids I think would prefer that I just stick to the original lyrics.
