On discovering a sparkly butterfly on my hoodie

Here’s an actual quote from Rose:

“Oh Mother, what a lovely coat you have there!”

I really don’t think she’s channeling Little Red Riding Hood on purpose — Rose just talks that way. (Also, I purchased the hoodie in spite of the butterfly, and not because of it. But I didn’t feel the need to tell that to Rose.)

I just realized that I haven’t yet documented another endearing example of Rose’s mannered style of speaking — she calls Dean “best friend” all the time. “Best friend, can I help make dinner?” “Best friend, I’m glad you’re home from work!” He says she even started to call him Daddy the other day, and corrected herself.

Aw, what a sweetie! She should hang out with The Baby – they’d sound like a storybook.

    Darling.
