(I’m trying to figure out why Picasa and my blog aren’t getting along.)

I’ve been having disappearing photos lately, too.

Lili, do you mean on my blog or on yours?

It’s been happening to me when trying to view my own photos here — they come and go, and are gone more often than I’d like.

That’s strange. On Reader, it shows a picture of Easter eggs, but here, it’s your adorable daughter.

Oh, and I don’t even really know what Picasa is.

And oh again, I think Joaquin’s “breakdown” is a publicity stunt. He has Casey Affleck following him around with a camera, filming his rap career. Weird.

They appear on my blog, then when I come back they’re gone. Like on my last post which says “remember these little guys?” And then it skipped the 2 baby lambs to the nursing lambs (which made me sound dumb–because the mama isn’t little). I reposted the baby lambs photo several times before I got it to stay (finally today), and then I think it’s because I posted it at the 400 pixel size and not full size…
something’s amiss. But maybe it’s just me.

Now THAT I can actually explain — Reader takes a while to update if I edit, and I decided to change from eggs to Rose for my test photo. 🙂

I remember now that about Phoenix’s rap movie, but I still can’t decide if he was “sedated” on Letterman or has brain damage or is a jerk or was putting on an act. I guess I hope it’s all an act and he’ll go back to being clean-cut and attractive some day. When I’m a lonely widow. And after he’s joined the Mormon church.

Oh, and do you use Windows Explorer or Firefox? My mom and sister use Firefox and so do I and we’re all having problems seeing photos, so I wonder if there’s some Firefox/Picasa compatibilty issue. (Oh, and Picasa is Google’s free photo-hosting service; unlike Blogger, WordPress doesn’t offer photo hosting so I have to host my photos elsewhere and then link to them.)

Lili, that’s funny that your comment got ahead of my two in the queue for being sent earlier — in my last two comments I was responding to Kristina. (It’s also funny that we’re having a real-time conversation in the comments. I miss IM . . .)

That’s exactly what’s happening to me — sometimes my photos appear, sometimes not. I almost wonder if Picasa’s getting more traffic than it can handle. However, I do always custom-size my photos and Picasa just changed the “large” option on the link to “original size” and that is when my photos started disappearing. Hmmm.

Holy cow — NOW when I load my blog, this whole post doesn’t show up. So now I don’t know whether it’s Picasa that’s freaking out, or WordPress. Or maybe Firefox. Or all three.

I guess I’ll just have to give up blogging.

  9. Lili says:

If you used gmail we could still IM 😉 😛
I guess facebook works for im too, but I never sign on in facebook.

Yeah. Mine disappear on “original size,” too. BUt i was doing original size and then clicking and dragging the photo to 500 pixels, and it worked fine for all but the one photo, which, no matter how many times I re-linked to it, it kept disappearing.

I do use gmail. Oh, I mean I *have* gmail. I guess using it is different than having it.

Where were you clicking and dragging? In Picasa? I usually resize before uploading. Hmmm again. Although, since my pictures have been coming and going randomly, I wonder if the resizing thing is just a red herring.

  11. Lili says:

After copying and pasting the html, I click to visual display (in the draft/dashboard) and click on the corner of the image to resize it.

I just thought it was my lame computer that didn’t see the pictures half the time. I love your pictures, so it makes me sad when I can’t see them! (I wanted to do the egg one that Dean did, but did it wrong because I couldn’t see the picture, but then saw it later. Next year, I guess. Happy Easter! (And I’ve never ironed one of my kid’s dresses. I like to pretend all their wrinkles are fresh ones from that very day.)

I would be sad if you stopped blogging.
