You might have already seen these at Design Mom, who in turn got the idea from here. I fell in love with the idea last year but we’d already made other plans, so I had to wait until this year.
It’s such a simple idea, but can still be time consuming if: a) you spend a lot of time tinkering with the pictures in Photoshop, b) you have to try several stores to find lollipops, c) you have a crazy week (husband out of town, sick baby) and therefore d) you can’t get to Walmart to print the photos until Saturday afternoon, so e) you have to stay up Saturday night assembling them (since you won’t have time on Sunday).
It’s all worth it. These were so much fun.
My sister made this kind for her kids, too (unbeknownst to me) and another sister used a different Design Mom idea, and a sister-in-law did similar cute Photoshopped photos.
I’ll bet a lot of people made versions of these this year, since–no, really–they are the cutest valentines ever.
If you want to learn from my mistakes, hold the camera a little closer to the kids’ outstretched hands for a better illusion. (Mabel in particular looks like she could club someone with her giant lollipop.) And we forgot to add a piece of tape on the back, so a lot of the suckers fell out of the cards between home and school and had to be put back in place.

Love love love love them.
I wish I’d seen this earlier- so cute! Next year!
