Speaking of things that are new,

April 30, 2009

I have an idea for an invention, and I’m willing to give up my intellectual property rights to anyone willing to develop it and market it. Here’s how it works. Imagine that someone, for example, a child, has just finished using the bathroom. My invention is attached to the toilet, and when [...]

Something new under the sun

Thanks to Mabel’s seemingly boundless creativity, here’s something I’d never seen before:

She calls him “The Applesauce King.”

Me:  “WHAT?!!”
Rose:  “I love you so much.  You’re the best mom ever!”

Zina: “You know, even though, since I’ve raised our kids since they were tiny and cared for them, I of course feel very close to them, there’s also this thing where they’re different from me and mysterious to me. They look different from me, they have different life experiences, and I can’t go [...]

A Friday without any appointments is a beautiful thing. (It’s a treat when a stay-at-home-mom actually gets to stay home.)

April 24, 2009

I’m so discouraged about the unresolved mystery of the disappearing photos that I’ve nearly lost my will to write blog posts. Only my kids’ most noteworthy antics are capable of pulling me out of my blogging slump.
It’s been a long, exhausting week, replete with kids’ soccer games and practices, doctor visits, Relief Society meetings [...]
