Little moments of ultra-spectacular cuteness

Mabel’s just returned from a cul-de-sac outing with Rose; Mabel was riding her bike and Rose was riding her tricycle. Mabel says, “Mom, Rose was so cute! She doesn’t quite understand the word ‘fix,’ so she was singing, ‘Bob the Builder! Can we fix it! Yes we can!’ because she can ride her tricycle now. And she did do it!” I ask, “She did?” and Mabel answers, “Yes! I had to get her unstuck from flower beds a couple of times, but she did it!”

A few minutes later Rose was in the backyard on the trampoline, and from inside Mabel and I heard Rose shouting at a neighbor’s barking dog, “I love you doggy! I SAID I LOVE YOU DOGGY! [Pause. Sigh.] Oh, well.” And she went back to bouncing.
