And now I’m avoiding blogging out of piety (rather than fatigue, sickness, or sloth)
Happy New Year, and welcome back! (My blog stats tells me several people are apparently back online after the holidays.) From Sunday morning to Tuesday afternoon we took a quick trip down to St. George to see Dean’s family members who live down there, as well as two of his sisters who were visiting from L.A. We had fun, got a little bit of (chilly) sun at Snow Canyon State Park, swam in the indoor pool at the motel,* and all survived to tell the tale — although, sadly, my kids are still sick. (We’re done with tummy troubles, but have headed into the territory of coughing/wheezing.) Today I’m going to take on the task of undecorating the Christmas tree, so I’m staying away from The Internets. If I can remember how to use our scanner, I do have some Amusing Child Documents to post later this year week.

*This is the part where Dean wouldn’t, I think, want me to tell you about how, having forgotten his swim trunks, he went to Kmart to buy new ones, but when Mabel didn’t want him to buy the only available swim trunks, since they sported to-her-offensive skulls and crossbones, he instead bought and swam in a pair of long basketball shorts. Ha ha! Not that he’s actually embarrassed by this, but I think he might not enjoy how much I enjoy being embarrassed for him. (I’m sure that any males reading this would simply admire his resourcefulness and thrift, since the skull/crossbones swim trunks costed $16, whereas the basketball shorts only costed $5.)

Zina,
Was nice to see you and all of the family down in Southern Utah. Wish Cindy and I could have spent more time with ya’ll. Your kids are adorable as always and you and Dean looked great! Keep on blogging, love your stuff! And thanks for the comment on mine. It’s over with that bad guy I was dating, haha. Love you all, Jess
